Murrells Inlet, SC (Dec. 2025) — Legacy Village of Murrells Inlet, a premier assisted living and memory care community, is excited to welcome Larissa Kostal as Executive Director. Kostal brings with her 30 years of experience in the senior living industry.
Originally from Rockville Centre, NY, Kostal attended the University of Maine, Orono for her undergraduate degree in Communications. While she was working on her Master’s degree in Gerontology at Hofstra University, Kostal took her first job in senior living as a Recreation Assistant. She very quickly transitioned into administrative positions and has worked for the past 30 years in positions ranging from Marketing Manager to Executive Director.
For Kostal, working with seniors is both her passion and her calling. She loves to celebrate the positives while advocating for the best care possible for her residents. She looks forward to serving the residents at Legacy Village of Murrells Inlet, and hopes to create a vibrant environment where each residents feels safe, cared for and a part of the family.
“I thoroughly enjoy building relationships with my residents, learning their individual needs and partnering with my team to bring joy and fun experiences to our seniors,” states Kostal. “I have an open-door policy and like to communicate with resident’s family often to ensure their loved one’s needs are being met completely.”

Kostal and her husband of 27 years, James, have two children, Jillian and Patrick, and two cats, Wilson and Lucy. She loves to spend time with James on their boat, traveling and reading.
