Larissa Kostal

Executive Director

Larissa Kostal began serving Legacy Village of Murrells Inlet in November 2025, bringing with her 30 years of experience in the senior living industry. Originally from Rockville Centre, NY, Larissa attended the University of Maine, Orono for her undergraduate degree in Communications. While she was working on her Master’s degree in Gerontology at Hofstra University, Larissa took her first job in senior living as a Recreation Assistant. She very quickly transitioned into administrative positions and has worked for the past 30 years in positions ranging from Marketing Manager to Executive Director. 

For Larissa, working with seniors is both her passion and her calling. Her primary goal is to create a vibrant environment where each residents feels safe, cared for and a part of the family. 

“I thoroughly enjoy building relationships with my residents, learning their individual needs and partnering with my team to bring joy and fun experiences to our seniors,” says Larissa. “I have an open-door policy and like to communicate with resident’s family often to ensure their loved one’s needs are being met completely.”

Larissa and her husband of 27 years, James, have two children, Jillian and Patrick, and two cats, Wilson and Lucy. She loves to spend time with James on their boat, traveling and reading.
