Edie Quitadamo’s story begins far from where she calls home today—she was born in Germany. But when she was just 11 years old, her family made a big move to the Bronx, New York, a place that would shape her spirit and her path in ways she could never have imagined.

From the very start, her father was a guiding light. Owning an upholstery shop, he wasn’t just a hardworking man; he was a teacher of life’s most important lessons. Edie remembers him showing her, day by day, the power of hard work, kindness, and generosity. When asked what lesson from her father has stayed with her the most, Edie’s answer is simple but profound: “Always be fair, kind, and work hard for your money so you can enjoy it.” Those words have been a compass, steering her through every twist and turn.

Carrying that work ethic and those values into adulthood, Edie carved her own path by opening a hair salon—a perfect fit for someone whose hair always looks effortlessly fabulous. She doesn’t just style hair; she brings confidence and care to everything she touches, showing pride in her work and herself.

Love has been a beautiful thread in Edie’s life. She’s known the joy of two great loves, Charles and Dom, and is the proud mother of her son Chuck, whose presence fills her days with comfort and pride. Family means the world to Edie. She believes deeply that kindness—being friendly and helpful to those around her—is one of life’s most precious callings, and she lives this belief every day.

Edie is a natural when it comes to being with people. She once found joy in the friendly competition of a bowling league, a love she still carries with her today at The Harbor. Watching her “bowl” with that bright smile, you can see how much happiness it brings her. Music is another love, especially the smooth, timeless melodies of Nat King Cole. If you hear soft singing drifting through the halls, there’s a good chance it’s Edie, sharing her warmth and joy.

With every smile, every kind word, and every moment of joy, Edie lights up our community. Here at Legacy Village of Murrells Inlet, we are truly blessed to know her, to call her family, and to share in the warmth she brings to all of us.
